Went into Michael's today, (with 50% coupon in hand of course lol) and what do I see? Duff Goldman's face on the endcap of the cake decorating aisle....Yay! There are 2pk texture mats (small) for $4.99, ready made rolled buttercream fondant in red, pink, black, white and lemon flavored yellow (32oz.) for $19.99 and also ready made buttercream icing (don't remember the size, sorry) for $17.99. HTH someone 
I wonder if they're trying it out at some stores??
I was at Micheals yesterday too and didn't see anything, what state is this MIchaels store located?
I was on a site yesterday and saw that they sold Duff fondant, duff paste colors which were named pretty funny the purple was named after Prince, and the brown was called Hash I think, something obvious!! THen they sell kits to make three different cakes, one with flames, one with bubbles, and one for a girly cake. It comes with the fondant add ons, wires,and things. Then he also has artist sketch pads bags, etc. And he's got a new fancy logo called DUFF. It wont take long and he will be like Emeril and you wont be able to go anywhere without seeing his name somewhere. I just hope he doesnt get the Vanilla Ice Sydrome and be overkill. I would give the name of the site but it would be blocked anyway because of the run in that Heath had with him about a year or two ago!!
I went to that particular website and seen all the stuff he has with them. I want my own line of fondant! Now, how do I become famous? Really the starter pack of fondant with 3, 2 lb buckets was not bad priced! I'll have to wait and see if my Michaels will start carrying it. I wonder if Cake Boss will be next...

This weekend I bought rolled buttercream fondant in black, and it smells and tastes delicious. Its very easy to work with it. I'm definitely going to purchase it again.

Is anyone concerned that these kits may 'demystify' what we do for the general public?! ...or maybe it's more likely that people will think they can produce a Duff cake, be disappointed that theirs looks bad, and be even MORE impressed by what we do...? Hmm.

Interesting thoughts...
On the one hand, I think it kind of hurts the professional decorators out there. The "average joe" may get the naive idea that they can just pick up Duff's decorating stuff and will magically be able to produce the same calibur of cake that CCC makes, rather than ordering from a professional.
Course their cake results are sure to be interesting.
On the other hand, Martha Stewart has a TON of products out there. Not sure anyone thinks they can buy her stuff and automatically scrapbook or decorate to the degree that she does.
A couple of the posts in this thread mentioned rolled *buttercream* fondant. Are you talking about rolled buttercream or rolled fondant? Rolled fondant I like; rolled buttercream I think is the nastiest product on earth, possibly worse than Wilton fondant.

Well, if they're also selling icing in a tub, the rolled buttercream fondant might be just as nasty.

I saw it at the michaels here in canada yayyyy... I went to two michaels here in winnipeg and one had it and the other didn't. Expensive stuff at 29 bucks for a kilo but hey I don't have to pay for shipping for my black fondant and red then I am happy. That and the coupons I am a happy camper.
I just found this thread. And my local store closes in 15 minutes.
Maybe I'll be able to get there tomorrow before I go to work. . .
