How Do You Think These Are Made?

I actually caught an episode of Cake Boss the day he was making Sesame Street characters.
What I can remember he did was make the characters from fondant/candy clay, then take a sharp pointed tool and just poke the body and pull the tool away from it, dragging some of the fondant/candy clay out with it.
Time consuming, but looked really good. Not sure if that's what this artist had done with their characters, but it's a start
I agree with the previous poster. I think it is modeling chocolate and then using a tool to make the indentions!
Thanks girls! I saw that too, but I dont think its the technique used here. This one looks like something was smeared on the bodies. I would have thought buttercream but that could get really messy, so RI seems more like it.
funny how we can all see something different.......it totally looks like modelled and then covered in royal icing to me!
