Are there any bakers in kentucky? If so, what are the laws regarding baking or selling cakes from your home? I've been asked many times to bake cakes for payment. Just wondering icon_rolleyes.gif

homebakers are legal in KY, but call your local HD and check on what they require. In my county they said they didnt care if i was licensed or not as long as I didnt make anyone sick. there are a lot KY bakers on here.

I'm a KY baker. I had to get a catering license and am inspected every 6 months. Also had to have the 3 compartment sink, separate hand sink, self closing door on the bathroom, sanitation course, etc.

Geez, tesso, what county?

I'm a KY hobby baker. When I retired I thought I might like to make cakes for a little extra money, but my health dept. said I needed the separate kitchen, 3 comp. sink, etc.

So, since I can't afford that, I continue to give my cakes away to family and (very close!) friends.
