Well....I feel like a flaming idiot.

I just spent the better part of several weeks covering 2 dummies in pink royal icing. Lost a lot of time I meant to work on it doing various life stuff, and finally decided to finish it today.

It looks like mule spit.

No lie, I hate it. Bad covering, bad piping...flowers look retarded.

This was my entry to the Queen City sugar art show on the 13th, and now I have nothing and no time to do another one and I am super bummed and just wanted to moan, I guess. I really wanted to enter and do well.

Now I feel like I just wasted all that time and money on this stupid endeavor. Oh well. Thought if I shared it would make me feel better, so thanks for letting me vent.

Hope you feel better. I hate to be horrible, but I am glad that others do dumb things as well, makes me feel like I am not alone. Thanks for sharing! Cheer up another comp will come and everything you do will turn out well.

Why don't you let someone have an unbiased look at your creation? You might just be too involved and tired to think rationally

I agree with Ursula. I bet it's not as bad as you think. Maybe you've just looked at it too long and thought about it too much. I always do that. I am feverishly trying to complete my last entry to the same cake show and it is stressing me out. I am hating it, but I am going to finish it because sometimes I don't hate them as much once they're completed. And, I decided if I do hate it, I'll either not enter it at all, or enter it and ask the ladies not to put my name next to it....even after the judging (unless it wins something) . Heck, gotta put it out there if I can stomache it because just because I hate something doesn't mean everyone else will hate it too.

You are extremely talented and I imagine it'd be hard for you to make a "bad" cake. Do you have other entries besides this one? I really hope you have entries in the show. I can't wait to see all of the great cakes! Good luck.

Stacy, I spent 2 days sitting beside you and watching you work and you are awesome! I think you are biased against your own work because I heard you complain about the awesome piping you were doing, what I only wish I could do. I agree with the rest that you need to share a picture so we can see your "mule spit", as you call it.
