Hi
Can someone tell me what the method for bake even strips would be for a 3 inch high pan? The strips fit just right on the 2 inch pans but for the 3 pinch do i just wrap it around the bottom of the pan or do I use 2 to cover the entire side?
Thanks,
Jade
i use the 3 inch pans. i have never used the bake even strips. usually takes quite a long time to bake with the 3 inch pans. do the bake even strips lessen baking time at all?
You could use two that should work...but I cut up old sweats or buy sweat material and cut strips, about 4" wide and anywhere from 3' to 4' long.....I dampen them and wrap them about my pans....you can use them several several times....they might get dark but they work well.
I usually use two to cover the entire side. They overlap a little in the middle, but it works great for me.
I just used the 2" strip and kept it in the middle of the 3" pan (I did get ONE 3" pan and used it once in awhile!) . It still did the job just fine.
I only have 3" pans and I use homemade bake even strips made from aluminium foil and damp paper towel. That way you can make them any width you like. Works a charm!
I have heard good things about the 'homemade' ones from some Aussie girls on Flickr - this is the link they gave me that shows how they are made

I used two sets on a 3" pan and the cake had a ring around it that didn't get done. But I LOVE the strips, I just use one set now.
So do you use flower nails AND bake even strips? Or should you only one method at a time?
