I woke up this morning, tired as I was up until 2 am last night doing my very first FBCT. I knew it was going to be a long night since I'm slow at new techniques so I kept the coffee going. By the time I sat down to start piping, my hand was shaking like a leaf! lol I thought "oh no, this is going to turn out so sloppy!". Finished and went to bed. This morning I go to check my work and I flip it over and I'm like "hey! it doesn't look too bad!" THEN I NOTICE, I forgot to reprint my image in reverse image so my Raiders logo is BACKWARDS! lol. Good thing I decided to do it early so I have time to do another one! So I dub myself the "Dumb-dumb of the day!" Hope everyone has a great day! icon_biggrin.gif

Everyone has days like that. icon_smile.gif I'm about to attempt my first FBCT early next month, and I'm a little nervous about it.

Too funny!!! I haven't done the backwards thing on a cake yet, but I've done it a few times when making appliques for quilts.

I'm glad you have time to make another! thumbs_up.gif

Oh gosh, I'm so glad I noticed now instead of putting it on the cake and then noticing. That would be bad! Thanks for laughing with me icon_biggrin.gif

Oi, I did a figure two cake and scultured it but instead of the two I did an "S". Boy did I get pay dirt on that one. I didn't notice it till I took it to the party and someone asked me why I did an "S" for the cake. Glad to say it was for friends so no harm no foul. But we all do dumm things particularly me and particularly when I am tired.

Ah, shoot. That sounds like something I'd do. At least you had a good practice run. Now you can do a decaffeinated final version.

I did that with the "1" on a smash cake once. Just letting you know you are not alone. icon_redface.gif

Glad I'm not the only one who makes these silly mistakes LOL Well I finished the cake, and actually the final FBCT was my 3rd one! Grr. The second one my gut was telling me to NOT smoothe the back of it out but I did it anyways and it warped my lines all over the place. The third one I noticed a few places that weren't perfect and that the guys lip is kind of pulled up but it makes him look like he's smiling! lol

when i get asked to do a cake for a birthday i write on my sketchs plans b-day cake, however 1 day whilst piping and checking my sketches at the same time i actually piped happy b-day instead of happy birthday , luckily my friend saw the funny side, and she still teases me about it,.

I did the FFA emblem for a cake once, and did the same thing you did, forgot to reverse it. It took me almost 2 hours to do, and I didn't figure it out until I was done. Took me another 1.5 hours to do it a second time.

The sad thing, this was the third time I've done this particular emblem, as well as many other FBCTs, so I should have caught it earlier.

It happens to us all!
