non skid shelf liner, you can get a roll for $1 at the dollar store. I cut a sheet of it to fit in the bottom of the box and the cupcakes don't move at all! For mini cupcakes I use a large sheet of styrofoam and stick toothpicks in it and pop each lil' cupcake on each toothpick...you can almost flip those completely over and they don't budge!

You can also buy the cupcake inserts for certain size cake boxes..They will hold anywhere from 1 dozen to 36 cupcakes depending on the size of the flat box.

Can I do the same thing with toothpicks on styrofoam for jumbo cupcakes since thats all i'm doing for my business?? I think that makes more sense to stick it inicon_smile.gif

Well...I guess you can use toothpicks but if they bounce around it may tear up the cupcakes...plus it doen't really look very professional..JMO icon_smile.gif..I'm not sure they make inserts for the jumbos...

I've used the toothpick method for jumbos and it works, however I wouldn't send them away to customers that way......it's only when I'm delivering and setting them up. If you're boxing it up for a customer, then I'd invest in the cutouts or just some non skid mat.

if you're doing regular sized or jumbos just use the shelf liner, it really does keep them in place and it's only $1 for a roll that's like 15ft. long or something!

I use that non slip stuff for everything! I use it for so many different things that I bought the gigantic roll from Costco. I use it for transporting cakes, cupcakes, or anything else I am driving with that I don't want to slip. I use it to open jars, underneath my turntable ( i have a cheapy Wilton turn table), etc. It is definitely something handy to have on hand.

I found this site that sells cupcake inserts for all sizes including jumbo. They seem reasonably priced, you can get them in quatities for your business and shipping is free.

Just wanted to say thanks for the non-slip tip, the shelf liners worked great! I found little squares (no rolls) and layered them at the bottom of the box, and the cupcakes didn't move at all on a 30 minute drive.

I use gift boxes like you use when giving clothing for a present to box up mini cuppies. They're just the right height.
