I have been working on them all day and I have about 15 made. How much time does it take an experienced person to make them? I'm just curious.

I guess it all depends which type of rose you're making...

I asked the same in a recent thread and someone said she could make about 2 of the big, full bloom roses with individual petals, but about 10-14 of the roses using the 5 petal cutter. She did 5 at once, hung them upside down, did 5 more, then went back to the first 5 and fluffed the petals and so on.

Single petal, if I'm not distracted and really working well, I can make up to 14 1-1/2 inch roses. I don't have a petal cutter (want a set tho) so I have to do petal by petal still. I think my average (just made 85 for a cake) was 9 an hour...with my slowest being 7 an hour and 14 my best. But those are pretty small roses..each having between 7 and 9 petals...nothing like the huge roses I see on here. I would think if I were making those I'd "maybe" make 3 an hour. Very very labor intensive but you get better and faster as you go. I made myself do no more than an hour a day over a week so that I wouldn't get too tired (your hands hurt like hell if you push it) and that seemed to work. Take your time and as you get more experienced you will get faster! Oh, and better...I think my roses were just ok when I started but the last of the roses seemed much more lifelike...of course that was 80+ roses later! LOL!

That is pretty much what I thought. They are slow but so much fun so I guess it is worth it if you are loving doing it. I also wonder how many calories are burned...my arm and back muscles are sore this morning.

LOL..I hadn't even thought of the workout benefits! LOL! Yup, my arms hurt for days but it was so worth it. It was for my topiary cake and the birthday girl was SOOOO surprised and it was SOOOO worth all the hard work when I walked in to deliver it and got to see her expression! So, yes, worth it as long as you don't hate the process.
