Applesauce Please Help

Hey to all on this snowy evening, I dont have any oil and dont want to go to get any, So can i use applesauce, and if so how much, I read somewhere you can use applesauce instead of oil, Im making a chocolate cake with strawberry filling for my daughter to take out of town for her and some other girls she works with , Thanks

I have made brownies with applesauce instead of oil, and it worked perfectly......just use the same amount of applesauce as you would oil...it's 1 for 1......

Yep what Susan said, substitute the same amount of applesauce for the oil and you won't even know the difference!!

I have done this as well and I actually think the cake came out better than with the oil, and healthier too (cause that is why I eat cake- to be healthy) icon_lol.gif

I was just wondering the same thing tonight. Does the applesauce trick work in any recipe?

I'm assuming you are using unsweetened applesauce, right?
