I will never try a new technique again without looking for a method or advice from those on here who have more experience. I did a stained glass cake for a friend, didn't read the tutorial on here on how to do so. I assumed that the Wilton colored gels would work just fine and I assumed I could do it just like a FBCT, wow I will never assume again. That gel stuff is so sticky, I flipped it onto my cake this morning, and when I tried to peel the wax paper up, the gel all ran together and some of it pulled up with the paper. what a disgusting mess!

Thanks to my DH for keeping me in check, I scraped the mess off, covered the stain with a bit more BC, then logged on here to read the article. So, I followed the instructions to use piping gel as the outline, then flipped it onto my cake, filled in the colors, and viola! Not as perfect as I would like, but I am chalking this one up to a learning experience. Repaired cake posted here:

The picture looks great. You did a fantastic job. I learn something new everytime I do a cake. If I don't I feel like I've done something wrong.
