I have done logo cookies for firms before but none for myself. It seems like a lot of trouble and I am sure they eat them and hopefully they might remember your name when they need cookies or cakes.

I made a few to give to customers when they pick up a cake. So far everyone seems to get a kick out of it. As for them not remembering me, well, all the cakes I have sold have been to friends or friends of family, so they know where to find me!

I made logo cookies for my work, business card sized. The hardest part is getting the cookie the right size. My mom and I cut them all out by hand with a ruler and pizza cutter. I had a second order for business card size cookies and I used KHalstead's method to make my own out of aluminum flashing.

I made 2 sizes of cutters, 1 that was exactly business card sized for MMF and one that was about 1/8" smaller all around to allow for cookie spread. I wish I had taken pics of the second order because they came out great!

I also put a Royal border around the edge to finish it off. I did discover, though, that if you use the decorative scrapbooking scissors to cut out your images (I used the 8x10.5 frosting sheets, not the business card sheets), you get a nice border and can avoid having to use royal...

Surely!

Just put your business card on a piece of pretty ribbon or whatever with the edible one.

As far as the cookie boquet--if it's not to eat, just leave it out until it starts to look bad, then make another one! The cookie boquet place here has had the same ones out for display FOREVER!!

Your ideas sound great! I think it would be a good idea to include one of your business cards with your cookie card--then they will still have the information after they enjoy your cookie.

(Don't worry about your English. I don't know what your language is, but I wish my Spanish were half as good as your English.) thumbs_up.gif

Those are GREAT ideas, Doudoun!

I try to give my cards out at the bank drive through, water company drive through, grocery stores, basically anywhere people take money from me or whatever.

you can also purchase small cello bag and place your real card in with the edible business card.

I have even put a magnet card in with my cookies or I will cut poster board to size to give the cookies support and add a sticky label to the back with all my info

So you frost them with fondant? I thought I could use RI to do it, then when it stiffened up, I could just paint piping gel on to stick the image?

Would this work?

I don't know how to make MMF and (don't want to) right now...

I made the magnets myself. I went to the office supply shop and got the 5 magnet sheets and I used the avery program for business card printing and I just copy and paste my business card then print. I sat there and cut them out.

You get 10 business cards on each sheet..so that's 50 per. I got 5 , so I ended up with 250 magnets. I did have to go out and by ink too coz i ran out..lol

I cut them and put them inside little bags along with my business card so people could have a card in the wallet or pocket book and one on the fridge. When I opened my shop, I did the same thing. but in that little bag I had placed cards for wedding cake makers, caterers and florists. I had about 50 of them that I gave out.

People LOVE magnets for some reason..lol also you can design a label and throw that on everything!!

I do edible images on cookies a lot, Paula ( a cc member) gave me a great hint...I smear a cookie back with white chocolate and place the image on, then I do a simple border with the white chocolate..you can see an example fo that in my photos..some cookies I made for my son with an online character.

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=allby&uname=RisqueBusiness&cat=0&pos=71

since it's white chocolate, as soon as I'm done with the last one, I can start to package them! and people seem to like the white chocolate..it's not a tooth breaker like royal icing.

hope this helps

You can also buy the magnets pre-cut.. they are really inexpensive... you get like 100 magnets for around 8-9 dollars... and just put your business card on it
Not sure if this was said already but, when I make my cookiee business cards I put them in the candy card boxes that wilton makes...

Go to the Wilton site and go to the online store and click on candy, then candy boxes and accessories... they are the last ones on
the page... I tried to add the lonk but got an error... it's for their candy business cards but, I put my cookies in them.. the silver ones were on sale at Michael's for $2. a pack

Oh, they also have little slits to put your business card on the box.

What a great idea!
First I have to find one of those new printers for printing edible sheets! I have the business card magnets to print already. Just need the equipment for the cookies. What a great idea for any event.
Thanks icon_smile.gif

(edited, because the first one sounded nutty...icon_lol.gif )
