Is it difficult to cover the Wilton Sports Ball with buttercream? I'm going to do 1/2 pan and make a Mickey Mouse Hat cake. I do not like fondant, but I am worried about getting the buttercream smooth on a ball shaped caked. Is there a trick or tip that would help?

I use the sports ball pan to make the teapot cakes, use the viva method to smooth the buttercream, it works great.

I have done it for my baseball cake and just smoothed out the frosting with the viva.

I've done all sorts of shapes with buttercream, and Viva hasn't failed me yet! Go for it! thumbs_up.gif
