Can anyone tell me if there is a way to make a margarita glass out of sugar? It doesn't matter to me if it is pulled or packed or whatever- I am willing to try different suggestions! icon_smile.gif

I'd like to know too as I need to make 2 to go with a bottle of tequilla cake next month. I tried to make it out of gumpaste molded in a real glass and I guess I rolled it to thin. It is breaking apart just sitting on my work station.

Hey, you can try using jolly ranchers under a heat lamp on a silicone mat. You have to have pulled sugar gloves so that you don't get burned. You can shaped the jolly ranchers inside the glass for the form then make the stem and attach to the base. I've made quite a few things even painted the shaped jolly rancher with food color paste. It's unique, fun to do and the customers love them. Hit me up at: [email protected] and I can give you more details

I will actually be making a Martini glass this week. I will try to take pictures and post them to see how it comes out.

I did try it with puchasing the martini glass chocolate mold, then putting wet sugar in it and drying it, didn't work, the stem is so think that it kept breaking. So I actually did the upper part of the glass that way 1/2 and 1/2, dried them, and then put them together with melted chocolate, and dug out the center of the glass to put colored RI in it. Worked pretty cool, but I had to keep coming up with ways to keep the skinny little stem from breaking apart.

I will let you know how the "mold" thing works out.

Great! Thank you icon_smile.gif I have a couple of gumpaste ones that are drying just in case things didn't work out with sugar. icon_wink.gif

Hi Everybody!

I am new to the forum, but want to share an easier way to make sugar pieces besides boiling sugar, etc. God blessed me with the wisdom to think of creating sugar pieces from jolly ranchers. If someone can tell me how to make a tutorial and how to post them on here, I would be glad to share the technique with everyone. It's complicated to understand without actually seeing the steps. So, if you are interested in this info, please email me at: [email protected] and let me know how to make a tutorial.

Here's a tutorial from Melissa at Decoratethecake.com http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=129466897651&ref=mf

Chellebaeks, I'd love a copy of that tutorial!! You can PM me with it if you like! icon_biggrin.gif I make stained glass butterflies out of smashed jolly ranchers (see my pix) -- I'm guessing it's a similar technique. icon_biggrin.gif
