Any thoughts on how to make good looking guitar stings for a guitar cake? I'm planning on a fondant covered electric guitar cake for a 6 year old, but the strings have me stumped.

Thanks, everyone!

On th eguitar cake (in my photos) I used clear fishing line as it is strong and can be pulled the full length of the cake. But have hear of others that used jewelary wire, thread and even fondant using an extruder icon_eek.gif

I just did a guitar cake. I tried buttercream, not straight enough. I tried fondant with an extruder, tons of work and breakable. I ended up using thread. HTH

I've used floral wire...it is propped up off the cake and doesn't touch it. I have also used dried spaghetti, sprayed with colour (on a kids Hannah Montana cake)
