Anyone have custom cookie cutters made? I am looking for the cheapest wholesale vendor out there. I will probably want metal and plastic (since you can get details) Also, I am wanting to have some made and patented, to sell. ANY HELP would be so much appreciated. I don't know where to start. I really need to get it done before someone else does. Looking to see if the patent already exists is so confusing to me. I have searched high & low.

I don't know about patenting a cutter. (Can you patent a cutter? Or would it be trademark?) But I did just receive my first custom cutter from Copper Gifts. Quick turnaround and it looks and feels very sturdy. It was $55 for a 3" cutter. Hmm, guess that doesn't really count as cheap, does it? You can contact them anyway and ask. They respond to every email I sent by the next business day.

Thank you. I was wondering the same about the patent. There are so many out there exactly the same, sold by different vendors. but I am sure Wilton has a patent on theirs. I guess if you have enough $ you could do about anything.

I get all my custom cutters from Ecrandal. They're making another one for me as we speak. www.ecrandal.com Eric and Jamie are great to work with. In fact, I know of a number of online stores that have "their own" special cookie cutters which were actually made by Ecrandal.

I realize you are talking about mass scale, but if anyone is looking for a few here and there, I would go with Ecrandal. I have only heard good things about them and I know that GemniRJ has been very, very happy with cutters they have made for her. Also, I have spoken to the owner before and he is really great. You can tell they put their heart and soul into what they do. If you also look at their work, he is able to get curves and detail work that I do not see with Coppergifts. True craftsmanship.

While at my local cake place i noticed that you can buy a kit with everything in it to form custom cookie cutters....I think it was around 15.00( not sure)

I have never heard of this place but their cookie cutters look wonderful! They are only a little more than an hours drive from me too. I wonder if they have a store front or if it's only mail order?

I'm another ecrandal fan!! I just recently ordered my first cutter from them (the little black dress in my photos). Eric is very detail oriented and the customer service in outstanding. He called me to ensure the details of my cutter was to my liking and this wasn't even a custom order. Great company

Are their cutters seamless?

I LOVE my cutters from ecrandal! No, they aren't cheap, but they are definitely works of art that are a joy just to look at! If you are looking for inexpensive, mass produced, custom cutters...that's a different story.

You can check online with Khalid Khan at Khan Arts India. While they had a bit of a problem getting some of the shapes correct, they made my 3D cutters that I sold in my kits and were pretty sturdy cutters. You can also decide on a number of different materials and finishes to use for the cutters. You have to buy a minimum of something like 100 cutters per design, and a minimum order of something like $500. If you've done much looking, you'll know that there are places here in the States that will only except a minimum order of 10,000 cutters per design! So....if you go with Khan Arts, just be sure to be very explicit about what you want. They took about 2-3 months to get my 2,500 cutters shipped to me, which was longer than they had promised but still quicker than the one company here in the States.

If you can find a local metal craftsman who is willing to work with you, that would be something to consider. Check with a local community college to see if they have a metal shop, and if they could recommend someone. It won't help with the plastic cutters, but it would be a start! Good luck! I am also an ecrandal fan. I love the new Valentines cutters they came out with. The bouquet of hearts is awesome.
I love the hot dog, hamburger and BBQ grill. The workmanship on the banana split and parfait are awesome.
It is so hard to pick a favorite, but it would have to be the customer cutter they made for me from a picture of my dog. Awesome!
