I agree with this suggestion. I'm not a very good artist, so I need to trace, and Chocolate Transfers are just what I need.

They can be made in advance, then drop them right into the icing after you flood. If you make them the right thickness, they'll be level with the icing.

That picture of the baby from the invite isn't too-too detailed that it can't be done - especially if you size it up for a 3" cookie.

I've tried to put together a picture of some choc transfer cookies I've done.

p.s. They're easy for cupcakes too! I have Valentine hearts ready to go right now.

HOLY COW Patty!!! Those cookies are totally amazing and soooo perfect!!
I've never done a chocolate transfer. Can you give step by step instructions please? I usually do better with visuals, but instructions would be great.
Thank you so much! I'm amazed cuz i'd do this with EI's but they can get expensive.

luv2bake6: I'll send you a PM with some notes I wrote up a while back. When I first posted the Ben10 cookies some people asked, so it was faster to have a document ready to go. I have pictures of some of the choc transfers I've done recently, but haven't compiled them into a proper set of instructions.

You might want to consider working up a mini-tutorial, and posting it right in the cookie forum! It looks like the interest is there, and you'll save yourself a lot of time answering everyone's requests for the information! And it will be appreciated by a LOT of people. (Me included).

Thanks GeminiR...after I emailed a few people, I came to the same conclusion. I am actually working on it right now, cause we're completely snowed in here so I have some time.

I've never done anything like a tutorial before. Do you know if a .pdf file is best - then I can use PowerPoint work with the pictures easily? That's what I posted the cookie pics as. Also, since I use them for everything, cookies, cupcakes, and cakes, should I just add to this thread? Or start a new one in How To.?

I'd also like to apologize to the OP Mel2085...I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to hijack your question....

PattyT, I would not add the tutorial to this thread. It should have it's own topic heading. That way, down the road, people who are interested in this technique will have a better chance of finding it in a "search". Also, if anyone asks you about it, you can tell them it's under your forum posts, and you can give them the title. As to where to post the tutorial.....I'm partial to the cookie forum! But post it where you think it's most applicable. You can always post a thread in the other forums, alerting people to where you have it posted. Hope that makes sense!

I can't help with the format of the tutorial itself. I did a mini-tutorial on how to do my 3D turkeys, and just attached the photos one by one with the descriptions. I had to reduce the size of the photos, which was easily done using shrinkpictures.com
