She can't say I didn't warn her!!! We all knew the snow and ice was headed this way. I called the lady yesterday and asked her once again if the party was still on. Of course she proclaimed the party was on no matter what.

As of this morning I am stuck with this cake and she wants to know if it can be frozen for a week. The crown is made of fondant w/ tylose powder. What do you think will happen to the crown? Also, how do you keep the icing from getting freezer burn? Obviously this cake cannot be sealed up. Any suggestions?

I have never tried to freeze a fully decorated cake.

Wow, what a bummer. Maybe you could loosely cover it with saran wrap and put it in the coldest part of your fridge. I think freezing it would ruin it. Not sure but I think it would still be fine next week, maybe not as fresh as today but edible never the less. Just my opinion maybe someone knows better than I. Good luck anyway.

i would pull the crown off. Leave on the counter in a box. And place the cake in the freezer it should be fine after a week. Let the cake freeze solid then wrap and it shouldn't be a problem. The only problem i can see with freezing that is the sign may run alittle depending on how you made it. As long as the crown is off of the cake i don't see anything else that may give you fits.

I'd say give it somebody to get your name out more and forget saving it! Why? Well, after all you've been through doing this for her and the VERY LAST MINUTE,,she changed her mind,,I would just tell her that you can't preserve it as it will go bad...it really would go tasteless and all! ALSO< you have to be careful b/c it seems as her cancelling out on you LAST minute, she may find a way to get back at you if you decide to give it to her later..like the tastes are old and stale and etc..Would you want to go through with that?? Just state you are soo sorry but here is the pic, and I can't save it as you would not like the tastes. It's politely mannered!
I know I wouldn't..Beautiful work and look at this way,,giving it someone else may help you in the long run and it's added to your profile..I'm sorry if money is lost, but sometimes, that is the way business goes unfortunetly..the risks we run into,,but this cake can be benefit you in the long run! SO many compliments you will have!
I always believed in the saying,,don't waste your time on others whom don't want to waste their time on you..Obviously, she is not thinking about your precioius timing into this.

I don't think I can take the crown off. It is glued down with candy melts.

I think I'm just gonna tell her if she wants to take it and freeze it herself good luck. I don't think the crown is going to survive the defrosting process and the icing will probably taste freezer burn, but I can't help it. I held up my end of the deal.

I would get her to pay for the cake and hand it over and leave it up to her what she does with it as at the end of the day you held your end of the contract. If she cancelled the party that is her issue not yours.

I agree, I would let her pay for it and give it to her for her to figure out. Or don't let her pay and give it to someone. Maybe you could find a gymnastics/girls scouts/ any group of people to take the cake with some business cards? Maybe you'll find some extra clients!
