I have been looking at cakes with matching cakeboards. What are you using to decorate cake boards? It looks like scrapbook paper and ribbon to me. If that is it..... it looks easy, do you put a finish or coating on it? icon_smile.gif

Some people use scrapbook paper and put a layer of contact paper of them to keep the grease from sinking in. Others use matching fondant. Those are just a couple.

I have used scrapbook paper and then covered the decorated board in cellophane wrap. The brand I bought indicated it was food safe on the label. I learned about this from another thread here on CC:

I recently did some purse cakes and decorated the cake boards with paper that I cut with my Cricut machine. I've also considered using wrapping paper, but haven't done that yet.

I also have used ribbon around the edge of the cake board as others have indicated. It really finishes the look of a cake.
