Party was originally schedule for 4:00 tomorrow. We're supposed to get a lot of snow and she was thinking of postponing the party until Sunday. I already fondanted Te cake (no decorations on it - just solid white stacked 2-tier fondant cake). It has BC underneath and filled with Fresh Strawberry BC... I was gonna keep it in my garage (nice and cool but not like a fridge)... will it keep just as well an extra day? Can I decorate it today and will it be OK Sunday?

Darn Te snow and Te state of NC and not knowing how to deal with the stuff!

one extra day should be fine. I would finish that cake though incase you have power outages that prevent you from finishing it altogether.

keep warm!

Just so you know, NC doesn't have the money to devote to all the equipment needed for snow because it rarely snows there.

Store the cake in the fridge.

pr - I am from NY so I know the difference. We only have 2 snow plows for the county here (and we're in the capitol!). They brine the roads ahead of time but only the main ones. It's not the lack of things that gates me... its' the fact that the state virtually closes for like a week. I've been here awhile and its still hard to get used to.

But I will finish the cake today and since the garage is gonna be between 25 and 40 degrees now through Sunday... isn't that a good temp to keep it at? I thought it would be less humid than a refridge.

Thanks for your prompt answers peg & prterrell!

They will be lucky to have the party on Sunday also. After the snow, we are supposed to get ice which is worse than the snow. If you can get it in the fridge, do that, then you might be transferring to the freezer depending on what we get. Thank goodness my cakes got moved to other weekends, my daughter's included. I don't think Chuck E Cheese will be open on Sunday. LOL

Hey Fellow Raleighian icon_smile.gif
When I spoke to my client (who is a friend) at 2, she mentioned most of the party guests were from our community (We're in WFP) so the weather didnt matter too-too- much.

Anyway... you said freeze the whole cake? You can free a cake that is already filled and iced and covered in Marshmallow Fondant? I didnt even know you could freeze MMF so I'd be leary.

I have frozen fodant cakes before when parties were postponed. It might sweat abit while it is thawing, but usually they do okay. I put my daughter's cake in the freezer, but there was no fondant on it, just BC. I'll put the fondant ccents on next weekend.
