If I were quotiing it, I'd quote $350.00 for the cake alone. I'm not sure if those boots are are part of the stand or if they are GP boots around the pillars, but if I had to make those 4 boots out of GP, I'd add an additionl $100for them, so total quote would be $450.00.

Nice cake! My mother in law would flip out for this cake! icon_smile.gif

need to know more details- sizes of the tiers, do you normally charge for cakes? It shouldn't be that difficult if you have a standard charge per serving for fondant. Then price your gumpaste boots and add it.

$999. I price less than Charm City in order to remain competative. icon_biggrin.gif

Seriously, though here's ALL you need to take into consideratoin:
1) cost of ingredients including shipping or gas + wear and tear on your vehicle to go to the store
2) cost of utilities used while making and decorating: electricity, gas, water.
3) how long it took you x how much you want to make per hour

If you know that, then you can figure out how much to charge for ANY cake.

OH MY GOODNESS -- I made this cake! icon_biggrin.gif I am so honored that your are all talking about it thumbs_up.gif

twoprincesses, I just wrote you a private message. Hopefully, the information will help.

To answer some of the recent questions...
1. The boots are made out of chocolate fondant (wrapped around the pillars.)
2. The sizes of the tiers are: 14 X 4, 10 X 4, and 6 X 4.

OH MY GOSH!!
As soon as I saw the title of the post I knew the sarcasm would start flying. I simply don't understand why some people feel they must reply to all pricing questions. And you know who you are. Are you just out there, lurking, waiting for another one? I see you don't reply posts for other topics so that means you can use restraint. Why don't you get bent out of shape with all the dark fondant color questions etc...

I understand there is a magic formula and perhaps this comes easy for you. But I know I struggle with it and so do many others. So please just let us "idiots" that can't use a calculator figure it out for ourselves.

Sarcasm is not required and just move along to another post that you can add some value in answering.

victoriacakery... did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?? Good grief woman! Calm down.

Anyway, it's a beautiful cake whomever made it! It is hard to say if one doens't know more details about the boots for example. Afre they fake or are they modeled out of GP or chocolate?

Hi Mabma80,

I made the boots from cowboy boot molds, and I used chocolate fondant.

Thanks again for all the nice comments. Kim.

I'm sure I'll get burned at the stake for this one but I really feel victoria has a good point...that's one thing I haven't been able to figure out for the life of me is this...if a question or topic "irritates" you or your tired of seeing the question or you don't want to answer the question because it's been asked a hundred times..
then for heavens sake....DON'T click the link! icon_wink.gif It's really just that simple. I just hate for ANYONE to feel like they shouldn't ask a question...jmo

Nice cake though, my f-i-l would have loved this as he was a cowboy at heart icon_smile.gif

Hope this helps, I live in Midwest...and would charge approx. $550 for a fondant cake fairly simple in this size.

If decorations get intricate, I add $10 to $15 per tier. And would add $40 for the 4 cowboy boots ($10 each) and of course add delivery. My total for this one with boots and applique designs....$625

Love this cake, thanks for sharing

I have a question where did you get the cute cowboy boot mold??

Obviously a moderator removed the "offending" remark. I didn't see her comment either. I do love that "offender's" humor though. LOL! (I'm sure some of you can figure it out)

Yes - there was a comment that was taken down by the moderators. Unfortunately, it seems to be a recurring comment and that's why Victoria got upset.

Now to everyone else, Victoria looks like she just went off about nothing - but that's not true. The comment was there and I agree. If you don't want to read about it, don't click the tab.

Hi nancyg,

I got my cowboy boot molds at The Hobby Center in Nampa Idaho.

As for the $29.99 comment -- I'm a good sport. I actually laughed. I've seen that comment before...so, I didn't take it as "offensive."

Like Bronwen Weber says, "There is NO CRYING IN CAKE." thumbs_up.gificon_smile.gif
