I want to make frames for wallet size edible images.

1. Do I use all fondant or 50/50 fondant /gumpaste for the frames?
2. How do I apply the edible image to the fondant? Do I use water, alcohol or piping gel? I don't want the image to run.

Thank you. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You can either lightly (very lightly) mist the fondant and then apply or use piping gel. I prefer the piping gel myself.

I've used corn syrup to apply edible images to fondant iced cookies.

Hi, I would use 50/50 mix of fondant and gumpaste for the frames. And for applying the image to fondant, I have used a thin coat of shortening. icon_smile.gif

Hope this helps too,
