I have lots of cake crumbs from this weekend Im going to try this replacing the flour in the recipe for the strussel with cake pieces. I cant wait!

How did you add cake crumbs to the cake? Where did you get or make the crumbs?

Instead of adding flour to the topping I added cake crumbs, the crumbs were from the trimings of an earler made cake, but you could make a small cake and just use that. I added more cake crumbs than the recipe called for... just add cake crumbs till you can take a handfull, squeeze it and it stays together! Good luck, hope you enjoy it!

This recipe is very close to what "The Cake Boss" did as far as I can tell. I'm going to make it tomorrow and will let anyone who is interested know.

Thanks for sharing the German recipe. I was also dying to make the crumb cake after watching Cake Boss. I tried a recipe from the internet and I hated it! I can't wait to try this one!

I went to Carlos bakery in December, was visiting New York and thought it would be great to stop there, i tried the crumb cake...
it was amazing!!
Even better then I thought!!!
