To make it easier on you, to start, I would do it in groups of 10. Then I would think of 10 things that would be special to your students. Like if you had any special projects or units that they would remember. Or you could do numbers and letters, if you don't have the specific cutters for each one you could just do them on circles or squares. Pencils, notebook paper, school busses, apples, I could go on and on!! Good luck!

I didnt look at the pics that were recommended by Barbaranne yet, but I'm planning on making 100th day cookies for my daughters class as well. I went online and found some cute clipart with 100th day logos and am just going to use my rectangle cutter, put the 100th day image on (I have an edible image printer) and pipe a colorful border.
This is timely as we were discussing this this morning.
Last year I made 100 cookies for each of my kids' classes. Just a small round sugar cookie (think oreo size or slightly smaller) which I imprinted an even smaller heart shape. For decoration, I used the imprint to spread red royal icing (since the 100th day falls around Valentine's Day). Each kid got 5 cookies each.
My daughter wants me to do this again but 200 cookies is daunting . . .
I looked at the pics. They are great. I am thinking of doing the one with the 100 on it with royal icing since I am not as good as most of you guys on here.
Yes 100 days of school is just before valentines days, so doing them in red would look real nice.

I don't have any ideas as I'm brain dead after having 7 kids which the last are now in high school. BUT I never understood what the big deal was for the "100" days of school. I remember as a parent sending in 100 pennies, etc. for my kids to take in, but is there another reason for this?

In my kids' school the 100th day means they are more than halfway through the school year, as they are required to go for 180days, so its a milestone for them. Also in the younger grades they use it as a counting/math opportunity and do bring in items and count to 100, some classes do pennies, some try to read 100books, some have had the kids bring in 100pieces of a small food item such cereal,m&m's, pretzels etc and make a big bowl of trail mix for snack.
In our early primary classes, they do a daily count, creating bundles of popcicle sticks - ones, 5 ones makes one 5, 2 fives makes one ten, ten ones makes one ten, etc......
Our classes also do the same thing with coins....
The hundred day celebration is for getting to three digits, or one dollar. That is about as high as they go. Counting, grouping, early multiplication- very cool stuff for a 5-6-7 yeear old!

In my class they kids love counting every morning/afternoon and see our Caterpillar snake around the room. We are also putting candy in a jar to see what a hundred pieces of candy look like.
The kids a super excited about the 100th day of school. For me it means we are on the down hill. LOL

Those are very cool and so pretty..........but they look so breakable too. I guess the cookies have to be really thick?
