I am making a mud cake and so far it has been bakinf for just under 2 hour s! And still very soft in the middle. What am I doing wrong? I used Pam's Chocolate Mud cake recipe, doubled for a 10"X 3 cake with a 2"collar. Thanks anyone
Hi, I'm awake (only just). It's a holiday here AUSTRALIA DAY so there will be a few of us that are sleeping in.
Seeing as you doubled the recipe it will take a lot longer to cook, the collar is all good, a flower nail in the centre would've helped as well with this type of dense cake. Hang in there it will cook it just may take a little longer that's all.
It is such a yummy cake.

Not an Aussie, actually up in japan. One of the tricks I use to help cook the middle is to take one of those flower nail spray with cooking spray and flip it upside down and place in the middle of the cake. It also helps keep the cake from rising so much in the middle
Ski - I pm'd you back.
With that sized cake it can take up to 4 hours in a low oven!
I hope it's all good now
Thanks everyone, Aussies and Japan! I reaally appreciate everyone help your advice have been very much appreciated...I hope I can be amongst those who are proud of their mud cakes..and wonkies!
