It has been suggested by another CC member in one of the most recently of the bajillion pricing threads that we need a pricing forum. I heartily agree. The vast number of pricing threads alone I think validates the need for a seperate forum for these questions.

It won't make a shred of difference! I think there is definately something else going on here - there are just TOO many questions that read exactly the same these days....

Maybe the email scammers are 'having a play' with all here on CC. It is definately INTERNET TROLL BEHAVIOUR - it needs to be ignored or treated with the same sense of importance as shown by Mensch and prterrell's answers

I reckon we need a STICKY POST that outlines the "How to's" similar to what has been handed across a gazillion times - and then just cut and paste these ANSWERS:-

Seriously, though here's ALL you need to take into consideratoin:
1) cost of ingredients including shipping or gas + wear and tear on your vehicle to go to the store
2) cost of utilities used while making and decorating: electricity, gas, water.
3) how long it took you x how much you want to make per hour

If you know that, then you can figure out how much to charge for ANY cake. "

I think it is time Admin or Moderators did a few IP address searches on members

I agree that it won't make a difference at all. I really don't know if it's a troll, but I just don't understand how something as basic can be so hard.

You have costs, you have to meet those costs. You NEED to make a profit, you have to meet those needs.

It doesn't get any simpler than that. If your household expenses were 3000.00 a month. Would you take a job only making 1500.00 a month? I just don't get it.

No arguments here!

I must admit that I also find it amazing that people can actually write...

"I have NO IDEA what to charge" and then be so ready to ACCEPT a suggested monetary figure from a bunch of people that could be typing monkeys for all they know.

Whats that saying......... On the internet nobody knows you are a cat!!

All too easy for people to be something other than themselves!

I think that if there is at least a forum dedicated to that, all those post will be contained and then the ones that don't want to participate can stay out.

I feel like the pricing issues are a mix of people being insecure of their work and need validation, or sometimes there are a few that have specially weird/carved/etc cakes and want an opinion.

It's impossible to price accurately when we don't live in the same areas or even countries! Most of the people asking want to know that their work is worth IMHO

You know what's driving me nuts worse than all the pricing threads? It's the people popping into them just to criticize the people who've answered for not being nice enough! WTH is up with that???

What's funny to me is that the people who complain the most about pricing threads are the same people who can't stay away from them. Ironic.

Yes, I click to open a forum because I am new, interested and learning. If I weren't, I wouldn't even click to open and definitely wouldn't criticize others for there interest.
