I had a request today to do a 50th anniversary cake for a couple who own an antique store. Their grandaughter emailed and said the anniversary party would be an open house, with the cake more as a decoration (though whoever was there at the end would eat it..) and wanted "something having to do with antiques."

I'm drawing a blank.

I'd like to offer her several options, but can't come up with even one! Okay, I've got ONE .. a teapot cake.

What else strikes you as "antique-y"?

Maybe an old dresser or chifferobe, old sofas, chairs, etc. I think furniture would be so cute! I love antiques! If you have an antique store in your area, maybe you can just browse around one day to get some ideas. If you happened to visit theirs (if it was local), you wouldn't have to offer any information on doing a cake. lol

I definitely think going to visit their store would be a great idea - that way when they see it, they will know exactly what it is.
