See my post under Florida Mini Classes Were Awesome. Norm Davis said there is going to be a new Cake Cricut. Who can tell me more?

On the Cricut website, there is a "tease" that something sweet is coming, but I couldn't find any details.

I can tell you if they are coming out w/ a cake cricut that the mark up will be amazingly high. They'll tell you that others can't be used for cake, that this one is superior & all the other things that go along w/ marketing. But.....I am interested to know how it will be different than what they offer now icon_smile.gif

Yeah, me too. I really can't imagine how it will be different than what is out now. Unless they remove the roller bands and offer a "food grade" plastic mat without the stickiness. And probably a package that already includes the deep cut blade & housing. Other than that...what could be different?

I think someone should come up with a machine that will cut cookie dough! No more making awkward cookie cutters!! Even better if you could send the fondant through afterward and cut and emboss that as well icon_smile.gif

Now you're talking Julie! I just finished cutting all my spa cookies from hand. Having to pop it into the freezer so I don't distort the dough uggh....... That would just be too sweet! Maybe you have an idea going for you icon_wink.gif

Chefjulie, I really love your idea. Wouldn't that be wonderful!

I understand Cricut has been consulting with Linda McClure who put out the Cricut DVD for cake dec. I really want to get a Cricut, but I am going to wait to see what the new features are. I would hate to get one now and then wish I had waited. I don't know what other features the Cake Cricut could have, but you never know.

The Cricut website says something sweet is going to be introduced live at the CHA. I think that must be the Craft and Hobby Association Convention being held in California Jan 24 - 27. Maybe we will hear something soon.

Here is a link to the new Cake Cricut, it doesn't give much detail as to what is different from the original Cricut but just thought you would like to see

It's $400, way out of my budget as a hobby/fundraising decorator!

It's gonna have to do A WHOLE LOT for $400!!!!

Here is a copy of the handbook...gives a little more detail:

I own a regular cricut that I use for scrapbooking but haven't tried it for cakes yet. This looks great but $400 is definitely out of my price range!

Where did you get a copy of the new hand book?
