What would be the best way to ship cookies? My boyfriends sister turns 21 next week and we won't be able to go see her (she is in VA and we are inNY) so i want to make her some cookies. I'll probalby make sugar cookie cutouts decorataed in royal icing. I want them to get there without them breaking. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

indivually wrap the cookies (you could use that nifty glad press'n'seal). place them in single layers between bubble wrap, and wrap the whole bundle up well in bubble or foam wrap and place in box. clearly indicate the contents on the package, and consult your local post office for any further suggestions/restrictions on the size/labeling/etc. of your package.

usually, it's best to pack cookies in firm rows, pressed up against each other like you'd find in commercial packs, but this is only good for cookies that don't have icing (you want to keep iced cookies away from each other to prevent smooshes, chipping, or other breakage).

I just mailed two sets of cookies to Florida from NY. Each was wrapped lightly in plastic wrap, stacked and rolled up in bubble wrap and placed in a box. As these were part of a present, the cookie box was in another box with the gifts. I mailed them priority mail and they both made it fine - no breaks or cracks! One thing - the USPS won't ship perishables - so I didnt' tell them the cookies were in there!
