How do you price a cake for a very small wedding? There are 19 guests, so I was going to use an 8" pan and then a complimentary 6" for the anniversary tier. An 8" cake pan will make 25 servings, but there will only be 19 guests at the wedding. Do you charge for the 19 servings, or the full 25 servings that the pan will provide? Either way I am using the same ingredients, but the wedding coordinator jumped right in insisting that there are only 19 guests! Any helpful feedback is most appreciated.

you charge for the number of servings the cake will feed. Tell her you can make her a 6" and 7 cupcakes - or 19 cupcakes if she has to have the exact number of servings as she has people.

Charge her for the 25 servings and give her the 6" cake free. That is more than fair. Just because the wedding cordinator thinks they should only pay for the number of guests attending the wedding doesn't mean that's how it is icon_lol.gif What if one of the guests brings a date, do they owe you another $3.50? icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
