Thought that might get your attention. No, I don't want to decorate real crabs, I'm pretty freaked out by the little buggars actually!

Anyway, my SIL has decided instead of surfboard cookies for her sons birthday, she wants cookies that look like crabs. I've found a really cool crab cookie cutter but I was wondering if anyone has made and decorated any before. I'd like some ideas of what to do instead of making them red with eyes on them.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. I loved the surboard ideas I got from everyone and will definately keep those ideas for later use.

I'm assuming she's having a "beach" theme? How about putting lei's on some of them or sunglasses? Could be cute!

The cakemaker has a picture of a cute cake she did that was a crab basket and she put crab cookies on top, although the picture is the basket before the crabs were added.

How very cute!!! This is the birthday I was supposed to be making the shark cake for but she kindly told me that her and her mother would be doing it afterall and not me. Then she said I could do surfboard cookies and not she's changed her mind again!!!!! She now wants crab cookies. She doesn't ask for a lot huh???

I like the idea of the leis though!!!!!

I used a crab cookie cutter for my crabs. On the last bushel of crabs cake I rolled out Satin Ice fondant and cut the crabs from that. After they dried I sprayed them with red and orange spray coloring to make them look steamed. I was told that the kids fought over them!

You could make cookies and then cut fondant with the cutter and place on top when they come out of the oven.
