I was wondering if anyone had any tutorials etc on how to do Tinkerbell figures? Also, I have a model of a golfer to do, and was hoping for some advice on how to do this too?

I would really appreciate any help that anyone can offer, as I am quite nervous about doing these figures.

Hi Pauline, I haven't made a tinkerbell figure. But I have done two golf figures, which both sitting down figures. And I might have to do a standing one next month.

If you want to learn how make figures, aine2 is the answer. I bought her online tutorials and once you know how to do the basics, then the rest is easy. Here is the link to her website,

check kids coloring books. i get great ideas for my figures from the coloring pages in kids coloring books. also it helps to decide what size you want to make to by comparing your figure to the figures in the coloring pictures to get your proportions more accurate for your figure. have lots of fun!

I found a great book for making figures in A C Moore. Michaels or any other craft store might also have some. If I am making a girl with a dress, for example, I will use a styro foam egg and grease it lightly with Crisco. I usually cover the dress first, then mold the bodice, then the neck and then the head, so that all is in good proportion. You just need an inside structure such as I used with the styro foam or something such as sturdy wire. Did you try surfing the net using words such as: Basics for making clay figures. If you find this information for clay, you can certainly convert the information over for using fondant, etc. Hope this is helpful. I'll try to post a picture in my photos section of a figure I did with a dress having the egg styro foam shape underneath. Maybe, that might help.
