Help!!! Ever Heard Of A Belly Cake?
Decorating By CakeBakerSoulShaker Updated 8 Jan 2010 , 2:22am by Cristi-Tutty
I just had someone ask me to make a "belly cake" . a cake made to look like a 3D torso of a pregnant woman, for a baby shower. It looks like it will be somewhat easy, just time consuming. But she wants it in two days! Dumdumdummmm. Anyway, any suggestions? How to get the dome shape? And also, it has a dress on it with fondant and lots of draping....Ive never done that. Please help!!!!
you can check out my photos there is one in there.
we used the the ball pan for the top
and a pyrex bowl (depending on the servings size)

have a few in my pictures, too. also used a pyrex bowl for belly and the wilton small fluted bundt pans for the tops - good luck
I just use the half of the sport ball pan and two cupcakes for the breast part on top of a 2" deep 11x15 you can check the cake

You can check my pics. I used half a sports ball pan and two mini wonder mold pans for the boobs. I did a draped style dress over mine and it was pretty easy. HTH
Why of why did this trend start? What is it about baby showers that turns women into (pseudo)cannibals?
