I got my new piping tip today!!! Wilton 1M............excitedly I whipped up a batch of cupcakes and buttercream...............started piping, eager to make the famous "Rose" look.

1 out of 12.

Not quite as easy as it looks huh LOL

Keep practicing! Your first rose on a nail probably wasn't perfect either. But once you master the cupcake roses, they look sooooo cool!

Did you go from the inside and circle it out? That makes it look more rose-like. If you start from the outside and go in it gives a little different look.

I had a hard time the first time I attempted these. I watched a you tube tutorial (thank heavens for you tube!)

Start at the center and work out. When I was doing it, I was going outside in....makes a difference!

I like the rose with the 2D tip. Does anyone have pictures using any other tips to achieve the rose?

I didn't know you could do that with the 2D (which is my favorite cupcake tip).

julia77 - why ebay? Icing tips are cheap. I can't imagine you can get them cheaper on ebay than purchasing a new one. GSA and CKSA both have icing tips, most are under a dollar each (around 65 cents).
