Can I use his receipe to make Red Velvet Cupcakes? Is there anything special that I need to do? I have used his receipe for the cake and it came out awesome and I want to try red Velvet cupcakes.

I've yet to find a cake receipe that dosen't work for cupcakes. Just becareful not to over bake they tend to be a little dry if baked a evan a fraction too long.

You can totally use it! This is my go to recipe. The only change I do is use AP flour (simple because I hate going to buy cake flour just for a cake) and I use 3 tbs of cocoa powder. I LOVE THIS RECIPE!! And my favorite way to eat them is in cupcakes for some reason. GOod luck! You'll love them!

I too use Cake Man Ravens recipe for cake and cupcakes. I love it. Just dont bake the cupcakes too long as stated above.

I went by Cake Man Raven, because of this thread, and I did not like the cupcakes. (the recipe only has 1 tsp of cocoa? Red Velvet is a Chocolate cake!) Then again, I have only really found one cupcake place that I liked in NYC (which may be leading me towards trying to start my own place.)

But, as stated above, most cake recipes are good as cupcakes, and the cupcake that I got from the store was moister than most NYC cupcakes. Just a little off
