Hello.... I am fairly new to cake decorating and have been getting lots of good advice from this forum. I am going to make a candy barrel cake for my family Christmas party and was wondering if anyone had a good peppermint cake and icing recipe.

I used this recipe with a few changes and it came out pretty good...

I used regular buttercream and out a half a small bottle of lorann's peppermint oil into the white cake batter. It gave it a really strong peppermint flavor, but the red cake and regular buttercream really toned it down and everyone loved it!
