Please help! I have a cake order due tomorrow night and my mixer broke! We are under a blizzard warning and I can't get out to buy a new one.

Any tips on making icing without my mixer?

Thank you

I have no tips on making icing without a mixer but is it possible that you could borrow your neighbor's? Good luck to you!

OMG my biggest fear....you poor thing.

Do you have a hand mixer? or Maybe a neighbor would have one you could borrow.

As soon as you're able to, could you go buy a bucket of frosting at your local grocery store? I know it's not as good as homemade, but if it helps get this cake done in time, it might have to be done.

If you're under a blizzard warning, I would call to verify the function hasn't been postponed. If I had to make icing by hand, I'd make sure my liquid was hot to make beating it easier(not so hot that the icing turns to soup though), find a comfortable spot, and get to mixin'.

I am feeling for you right now!!! This is one of my biggest fears too!!!! I would have to say if you are going to go to the store to get store baught frosting, you can pick up a mixer too!!!! But otherwise I would have to say I would be knocking on the neighbors doors!!!!!!! Hope everythig turns out for you! We are in a blizzard too so I know the stress of not having what you need for the cake situation and not being able to go anywhere!!!!!!!

Okay, this might sound a little gross but desperate times. Put on a pair of gloves and use your hands to mix it (sort of like you would knead fondant or cookie dough). I swear- it works- and much better than a spoon. I know this thanks to my handmixer breaking midnight the night before I had a cake due.
