Every year I go to my brothers for Christmas. My nieces and nephews know that Aunt Christie will have some awesome cookie decorating thing to do with them. I wasn't sure what I was going to do this year....and lo and behold Santa brought my gift early this year! I am so making these with them - they will go bonkers for these! I can't wait! Thank you for the wonderful instructions - I feel so blessed with all the information/ideas that I have received from CC!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

uuuughhh!!! Pleeeeeze, Stacey, give credit for the design where credit is due! I've been chasing Mr. Melty Snowman all over the web, and he's taken over Cake Central. I don't mind if my ideas are copied, used for inspiration, etc (that's why I post them on my blog) but I only ask in fairness and courtesy to be linked to or given credit. The melting snowman cookie is my design, from my blog, December 2008!!! But Stacey has created a tutorial with only slight mention (after I plead for credit) for the inspiration in a separate post.

I made my first melted snowman cookie in 2008 and never even knew who you were.

It's not my intention to slight you or upset you. I did give credit for the original idea. Both on Cake Central and on my blog.

Your cookie uses a different technique and although your cookie is a melted snowman, he is a little different. You don't use marshmallows, you form your cookies differently and you decorate differently.

I put together a tutorial because people wanted to know how I made a melted marshmallow head. That is unique to me. It's a technique that I came up with.

There are LOADS of original ideas for a variety of designs out there that get altered and used in different ways.

I think it is a wonderful compliment to your creativity that an idea you had is being used as a starting point to get the creative juices of so many flowing.

apologies... you're totally right!!! I've been neurotic about Mr. Melty (unlike everything else I've created, which I've let go) because pictures have been stolen from my blog (NOT your guys, totally different scenario) and entered in contests and posted as others' creations, so I'm just more attuned to this guy and have been following him around. And it's also made me really focused on constantly linking to my inspiration sources (of which there are many). Anyway, so sorry to drag you along on my Mr. Melty angst!
