I recently bought some silver foil muffin cups, and they also have a paper liner. Not sure if I am to use just the paper liner when baking, and then put in the foil after? Use just the foil? Or the whole thing together? Never thought I would need instructions! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use them both together when I bake with them. They were made to be able to make cupcakes without a cupcake pan. So what I do is place them on a cookie sheet and bake them. After they are done and cooled I take the silver part off and just serve them with the white liner but it is totally your choice. I have used these with a cupcake pans and they come out ok too so it is up to you! Enjoy baking that is the most important part!

I usually take the paper things out because I read somewhere that those are just in there as separators or something. So for a long time, I've just been baking them straight in the metal part.

The previous poster is correct. If you read on the packaging it will tell you that those paper liners are in there to keep them separated BUT it also says you can use them. I had this question too but then actually read that on the packaging. Now I remove them and save them for when I just want to whip up some cc's for the family.
