Ok, I'm now going to tear myself away from the photos to introduce myself. Just discovered this site the other day and just love it !!! You all are so unbelievably talented.
I'm not very much of a cake decorator. I took the Wilton course over 10 years ago instantly fell in love with it... finished the course and have made only a handfull of cakes since.
But recently I made a couple of birthday cakes and feel the urge again. And then I stumbled onto this site and haven't been able to leave, it is just so full of ideas and helpful information.
I've noticed lots of members from Houston and was wondering if there are any from Birmingham Alabama ? I'm originally from SC and live at the moment in the Netherlands.

You live in the Netherlands? Awesome! Cakemommy & myself were there when we were children. Our dad's were in the AF & stationed at Camp New Amsterdam AFB. Dad's were there at different times. We found out we had that in common after meeting on this great site! Just thought I'd share that tid bit! 
Anyway, glad your back to decorating again! Skies the limit for cakes so have fun!!

rbbarker... Houston & Charleston are both really nice cities I think. Used to go to Charleston at least once a year, often to Spoleto. I'm originally from Florence, but lived about 10 years in Columbia. One of my best friends went to med school in Charleston & now lives in Houston ! small world.
tcturtleshell that is interesting about you & Cakemommy having both been in an AF family and both in the Netherlands as children. What a coincidence ! one of the things I like about internet is meeting strangers and getting to know them. You just never know what all you might have in common.
Ashianadotkom ... I'm not too far from Breda ! (about 30 minutes I think)... I live near 's Hertogenbosch and I can speak Dutch but not great... enough to have "normal" conversations though.
