I had an idea and it actually worked for once LOL

I just opened my commercial kitchen this month and was forced to find a way to be able to see exactly which cookie cutters I had when customers would call with an order.

We had an old wire shoe rack (the kind that hangs on the back of a door) that we weren't using anymore, so my husband cut each loop that a shoe would hang on with wire cutters and I bent each cut piece into 2 directions.

I used masking tape to mark the letters that the cutters began with and as I put a cutter on the hook I wrote it down in a notebook alphabetically. The notebook hangs at the bottom and it is very easy for me to see if I have a cutter by looking in the notebook first before I look through the cutters.

I can easily get 3-4 average sized cutters on every hook and there are a lot of hooks! I decided to keep my Christmas cutters in a separate bag on a shelf because there are just a lot of them and I didn't want to disperse them throughout the rack.

The space it hangs in is in between my ovens and the electrical panel is behind it. Every once in awhile we need to access the panel and the whole rack lifts off easily and is just moved aside. So far it is working great ! thumbs_up.gif

That is a really great idea. I don't really have the space to hang mine, but your whole planning is great and easily adaptable.

You have just rocked my world!

I have at least 5 big rubbermaid containers full of cookie cutters.

Thank you!

What a wonderful idea! I am the type of person who needs everything in my house organized at all times, but have never figured out what to do with my cookie cutters. I have them in a huge box and every time I need one, I end up dumping out the entire box on my counter. This is such a great solution. Love it!

I'm the most unorganized person so much so I just can't fathom how to start organizing. So this is really a great way getting my cutters organized. Thanks for sharing!

Love your shoe rack. I have mine in the small plastic "shoe boxes" with a label on the front telling which ones are where......ie: Easter, Halloween, Flowers and bugs, Animals, etc..........
