I am making one of these that is made up of the cupcakes and then iced over the top of all of them with a design. Can anyone share any tips or secrets to making this work? I would think the cupcakes would move all around so there must be a secret about that.

lay out the cupcakes how you want them, then one by one add a dab of icing under the cupcake and "glue" it to the board or plate you'll use....that's what i do...hahaha...maybe i'm wrong!!! but it works!!!

The way laurs described is 100% correct.

I put the cupcakes in the shape that I want and then picking them up one at a time, I put a small piece of tape (folded over on itself so that it's sticky on both sides) under it and sit it down again.

Works well for me.
