Hey there was a link to an excellent key lime cake recipe on this website. I've done a search for it in forums but for the life of me I can't find it. If you remember this site PLEASE help. It was a cake website and I can't find it when I type it into google. It was from scratch, and didn't have OJ in it.
this is the key lime wasc not sure if this is the one you were looking for but its amazing none the less...
I cut recipe in half if not making a huge batch...
2 pkgs white cake mix
2 c flour
2 c sugar
1 small pkg cheesecake pudding mix, dry (dont add xtra liquid)

Key Lime Pie is a very important staple food down here on the Gulf Coast.. lol.. Here is the one I make..
Preheat oven to 350
4 Eggs
1 can of 14oz sweetened condensed milk
3 oz lime juice
1 graham cracker pie crust
whipped cream
Separate the 4 eggs
Combine egg yolks and the can of condensed milk... mix well
slowly add 3 oz lime juice and stir until filling is smooth and creamy.
pour into pie crust, place in oven for 10 minutes
Serve chilled topped with whipped cream
I have made this recipe many times, its so easy and sooooo yummy.. and is gone in a flash!!!
SugarFrosted, have you tried the recipe on the second link you shared?
"Gradually add syrup and heat till blended" Is that supposed to be gradually add sugar and beat 'til blended?
There is one on All Recipes that is scratch with no orange juice:

Please let us know where (if LOL) you find the one you tried before.

No, sorry, I'm not a fan of lime in anything. I was just helping out by looking for scratch Lime Cake recipes w/o OJ, and those are what I found.
I believe you are correct that it should say "add sugar and beat " instead of "add syrup and heat" (since no syrup is listed in the ingredients and since heating at that point would be rather distastrous.)
This is the one I got from someone here and it is wonderful. I use 8" pans.
2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 t baking powder
1 1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
3 eggs
1 cup oil
1 cup key lime juice
3/4 cup sour cream
Sift together flour sugar bpower soda and salt. Add eggs oil and lime juice. Mix on medium until creamy. Add sour cream and mix until just combined and smooth. bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.
Could it be the one toedna posted? (not sure I spelled her name right) You may try and pm her to see if it is the recipe you are looking for.
Enjoy! It is a new favorite of everyone! I usually use a cream cheese buttercream and add some key lime flavoring. Hope you like it.
KawaiiCakecook...I see this recipe includes a recipe for filling...do you fill the cupcakes or use it for frosting?
KawaiiCakeCook: Congrats on finding it! I know how frustrating it can be looking for something lost!
