What Can I Use To Make My Fondant Shiny/glossy?

Buddy on Cake Boss uses a steamer to slightly melt the fondant and make it shine. I've never done that so I dont know if it works or not. Thats my next cake toy though..
You can paint the fondant with a mix of gel color and vodka to make a brighter, shiny color. Or if you just want the shine, paint it with plain vodka.
If you want the whole cake to be shiny, use the steamer, if you only want little details to be glossy, use a confectioner's glaze (this glaze is not tasty though). HTH
If you rub it with oil it gets shiny as a mirror! looks like those shiny tapping shoes.
If you see my photostream you'll notice that the noddy cake is shiny and so are the button cookies. I brush fondant with corn syrup. I dilute it with a tiny bit of vodka if it is too thick to brush on. The shine stays for a day or so.
