Has anyone tried covering a molded rice krispie treat with fondant? Any tips/tricks to make it look smooth? Thanks!

I coverd my RKT leg for my Leg Lamp cake in fondant ~ I just did a thin layer of BC and then covered with fondant. No problems!

When I used fondant over RKT for items in my "Sewing Basket" cake, I had to use two layers of fondant.

I covered my RKT in royal icing first to help cover all the little nooks and crannies. You could try melted chocolate too.

I couldn't get to first base. I tried to make a ball-shaped RKT and ended up with bits of RKT attached to sticky hands and clumps of sticky stuff in a bowl. Ended up covering a polystyrene ball with fondant. What did I do wrong?

It helps a lot not to use butter in the RKT when you're molding them. If it's still too sticky it sounds like you have too much marshmallow and not enough rice krispies.
