What is the best silver and gold luster dust?

Hi, I have only tried to paint with gold once and it was not successful. I used the wilton brand gold luster dust and added vodka to it. Did I do something wrong or is there a better brand out there. I now need to use either gold or silver luster dust and I would be very thankful for recommendations of a better brand (or advice on painting technique). Thank you

The very best edible gold & silver dusts are from Crystal Colors. You get very true colors and they mix well with clear driniing alcohols.

Thought I would revive this thread. I trust Rae's opinion, but I was wondering if there are any other opinions.

Rainbow Dust now make metallic food paints in quite a few colors including gold, silver, bronze etc

Remember that if you order from GSA you need to use pay pal or a preloaded credit card because of the problems they have had with credit card theft....I'm not saying that GSA has the best choices of dust I just wanted to share the video on how to use some of the different kinds of dust
