I need to assemble a black bow and wondered if I can color candy melts? I've never seen black ones. If not, any thoughts on how to assemble the bow? I've only used candy melts for this in the past. I really like that it drys so fast!
Yes, but you must either use colors specially made for using with chocolates, not the regular gel colors used for coloring icing, or, if you use Americolors, you can add Flo-Coat, which enables the regular Americolor gels to be used with chocolate.

you can color them with the oil based colors, but around this time a year I have seen the black ones at hobby lobby for halloween time.
I've made modeling candy with the candy melts, added powdered colors to get the shade I wanted with good success.
I just bought black Wilton melts at WalMart last night - Not that I necessarily need them now but grabbed them for future use.
At my WM, they are NOT in the cake decorating/Wilton aisle with the other candy melts, but in a special Halloween baking aisle that's near the costumes and decorations. HTH
Oh - and my future SIL just reminded me that she found a cute combo box of black, purple, and green melts for Halloween at AC Moore.
