The customer wants the cake frosted in buttercream (real butter so not quite white) with white pearl cornelli lace over the base buttercream.

All I know to do is pearl dust the cornelli lace with a paint brush, but boy is that gonna be a lot of trouble. Anyone got a better idea?

That's the only way that I know to do it. That's going to be a big job!

The only other thing that I can think would have to involved a trial run. Maybe you could put the pearl dust into the frosting. Pipe it. And then see if the pearl dust shows up in the frosting.

If I understand your question correctly, you want a pearled loook on buttercream icing. Once I decorate the cake I then spray on pearl sheen with the air brush. It's a beautiful and elegant look. I tend to be heavy handed with the pearl sheen to get a truly pearl look. It's really stunning.

i don,t believe there is no other way to do it.. but airbrush with pearl sheen the whole cake.. i would never sat down and just paint the corneli lace. unless she want to pay you dearly to do that.. just pearling the lace by brushing it on.. will eat up all your profit..the whole cake sprayed will be beautiful. it comes in spray cans.(pme.... or . lucks brand. then airbrush shimmer colors.. lucks brand and americolor.. hth
