Hello! I'm looking for some really cute ideas for Christmas cupcakes. My sister in law wants to give her clients a box of one jumbo homemade cupcake instead of traditional business gifts this year. I can't seem to find really cute Christmas cupcake liners with matching packaging...or just any ideas at all! Help!
I am interested as well. I have been looking online for cute Christmas cupcake liners and I haven't found any great ones. I am surprised there isn't more to choose from.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions for flavors? I need to come up with five different flavors of cupcakes that are "Christmas-y" (mint, egg nog, red velvet.. and then I am stuck!) TIA.
I just went to the Dollar General Store last night and they have the cutest gable style boxes with a clear window in the front all in different Christmas prints!! They're a dollar each and ADORABLE. I'll betcha they'd fit 2 cupcakes perfectly!!

Here is a photo of a gable style box in case you don't know what they look like.

Instead of mint how about candy cane, then you'll need gingerbread, and hot chocolate.

I meant to say candy cane... gingerbread, hot chocolate.. yum! Do you have a recipe for hot chocolate cupcakes? Thanks!!
a favorite around here (people are not that adventurous) is just to take a white cake and dye portions red and green and swirl it......so you have a white cake marbled with red and green.... kinda boring if you ask me, but people around here really like white cake! lol

That is a good idea and then I could decorate fun for the kids. Thanks!

Not really I was just copming up with names, but I imagine you could do any chocolate cupcake with a milk chocolate buttercream and maybe a couple of mini marshmallows on it.
Oooooh! Just thought of another flavor. What about wassail? Yum!
Do you have a recipe?????? That does sound yummy. I am excited for this event!
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions!
Chocolate cupcakes with white buttercream icing (w/just a touch of peppermint mixed in) then sprinkle the tops with the Peppermint Snow you can get from Williams-Sonoma. I do these as brownies every year and they go like wildfire. You can also just crush up some peppermint candies and sprinkle on top if you don't have a W-S close by.
Wassail - OH YUM! I have a wassail recipe that calls for pineapple juice, apple cider (or juice), cinnamon sticks, orange slices, a little honey, a little lemon juice. What about taking an apple spice cake recipe and adding in a little chopped pineapple, then top with a cinnamon cream cheese icing and a little fresh orange zest sprinkled on top???
For the wassail, I was thinking you could just use wassail as the liquid in your cake recipe, but newmansmom's idea sounds even better!
It would be a lot of work, but wouldn't it be cool to do a dozen cupcakes that were the "12 cupcakes of Christmas" with each one a different Christmasy flavor?
Here are some more flavors you could use:
White (Chocolate) Christmas,
Sugarplum (plum-based recipe with sugar sprinkled on top),
Christmas cookie (can you make it taste like cookie dough and have cookies on top?),
Pecan pie (I think there are recipes for this one, on the Internet somewhere),
Fruitcake,
Mulled wine,
Partridge in a pear tree (pear-based recipe),
Chocolate Santa (plain chocolate with a choc Santa on top)....
This is fun!
Someone mentioned eggnog flavored as well. I think that sounds fantastic if you could really get the eggnoggy flavor. Wonder if you could use that as your liquid in a recipe instead of milk, buttermilk, water, etc. Then some freshly grated nutmeg in it. I love eggnog and can't wait for it every year.
Search the big cupcake thread, I think last year they discussed many flavors, some with recipes (look in the cupcake recipe file in some ppl's signature lines)
Have you checked out Fancy Flours? They have lots of cute Christmas cupcake liners and wrappers, pics, sugar decons, etc.
