That tutorial was really good. I can't wait to try making my own lace molds. Thanks for posting this!
Thank you so much Edna! I watched someone do this at OSSAS and i was just stupified... lol.
I just watched the first two videos...looks like lots you need to buy special materials for this..i wonder if doing this yourself would be really cheaper than buying a mold. What do molds cost? It would really suck if you bought the stuff, went through the steps and ended up with a less than perfect mold. Cool idea though.
Maybe at the begining might be expensive, but there some things that are reusable. Lace molds can be quite expensive. I bought some for $30 dollars. The real neat thing about it is you can do things for your own taste.
This molds are not only for lace. You can make lost of molds. I did one with a wood piece, you can use jewelry, bottons..
All sorts of things. I saw his tutotial in ICES last year and the product is very good and strong.

Dominic also sells isomalt from his site. He is very helpful - the stuff he makes molds of are amazing!
Hi all, there is another post one this and i used one someone suggested quite a while ago, if you would like to look back i explain the difference between his and the other, this seem's much easier to work with, i tried the trial size of the other, it worked but what you mix it in you can't use again. and messy, i paid about 32 dollars with shipping, what is nice about this the ditz seems to last along time and you can reuse the clay. so you don't have to order it all the time. well it is a couple posts back, i'm going to order it's under how to make lace molds
Once you have mixed the two parts (white and blue) you have to use it, you cannot put it up and re-use it later. The only part that is re-usable is the clay. I have bought this (and the stuff from Michaels that is food safe) this makes a much smoother mold IMO....it is like it is a higher end silicone.
Now I am in search of some nice lace appliques!
(and I forgot to thank you for posting this too Edna!)
