Can I Wash Silk Flowers

prior to using them on a cake? If so, what is the best way to do that?

Sure you can! I do it all the time. Just put them into a sink of sudsy water and swish them around. Rinse well and let air dry

I've been told to but them in a brown bag with salt and shake it. The salt will remove any dust on them.

I actually *require* that silk flowers be washed before they go on the cake. Otherwise it's like every person who touched the flowers in the store just put their hands on the cake.
